Why should they extend Jobless benefits. If you can’t get a job in 99 weeks, you don’t deserve benefits?
Question by Sir Joey the 8th: Why should they extend Jobless benefits. If you can’t get a job in 99 weeks, you don’t deserve benefits?
Sen. Tom Coburn, the Oklahoma Republican who blocked Democrats’ efforts to reauthorize existing unemployment insurance for the long-term jobless, says that Congress will eventually give the unemployed another month of benefits.
“We have 99 weeks of unemployment compensation out there right now — and we’re gonna move that to 103, and then we’re going to move it even further,”

Kiss my grits
I agree completely. I could get a new job tomorrow.
They are just being conditioned to accept food stamps and welfare on a daily basis , mere scraps from the Democrats table .
get ur facts straight….no one is speaking about extending benefits longer than 99 weeks..
You are misinformed. Unemployment benefits last 26 weeks.
It frightens me that too many are learning to live on the benefits instead of seeking any job that pays. Why should they tighten the belts for handouts and not for starting over?
<<< left a 27 year career for a new way of life, 3 months out of work, retrained and earning the same pay as before in 18 mos. It can be done.

We can be “friends with benefits” until one of us gets married. But if neither of us finds someone who’d have us within 99 weeks, then we don’t deserve bennies so it stops. Deal?
