What to do when 30 years old single and unemployed?

Question by Jack Fazio: What to do when 30 years old single and unemployed?
What would you recommend for a 30 year old male who is unemployed, single, and has no college degree? I am tired of going to interviews where I am competing with fifty guys with graduate degrees all scrambling for a minimum wage loser job. Do I join the military? Go postal? Walk the earth like Kane from ‘Kung Fu’ ? At this point I am open to any suggestions, no matter how outlandish.

You needs a skill set and someone who wants to pay you for it.

You could join the army or what not. There’s always those trade schools or you could go back to school. Finally, you could stay with what you got and just suck it up, or stop sitting around and do something. Good luck.

Try to get into some trade program like plumbing, electrical, etc.
Those jobs will always be needed, pay well and can’t be outsourced.
You have a long life left so it’s in your best interest to find something to do that you will enjoy for the next 30 years.

Join the military and then go to college. Or just go to college and do work-study. Try relocating to a place like Oklahoma or Alaska that has the oil industry if you are a hard-worker. If you are single and willing to try anything start looking in other places for other types of jobs, and be prepared to move. What do you have to lose?

If you’re considering the military, you need to talk to a recruiter ASAP. There is an age limit for enlistment. Don’t wait any longer.
