What is a polite way to refuse an employment offer?
Question by Dan, version 4.0: What is a polite way to refuse an employment offer?
I’ve received an employment offer from a place that I recently interviewed with. I’m not interested in the position, however, and I’ve decided to pursue some other options. How can I politely decline?
Is it OK to just say “I’ve decided to pursue other options?” Do I need to explain why I don’t want to work for them? FYI…this is a professional position.
you have “no idea” about this question, or just about anything in general? lol

I believe you may tell the employer you decided to pursue other options and it will be okay.
There are many polite ways to decline an employment offer.
In Australia we have a universal term for refusal of almost anything
“Farrrk orf”
Tell them, “Thank you for the opportunity and offer, but I have decided to pursue other options.” That’s all they need to know.
I suggest to make a formal letter, thanking them for an employment offer and tell them that after weighing all aspect, you decided to stick with your present employer or whatever option you have. No need to explain your reason why you don’t need to work with them, it’s your personal decision.
