    Jobless claims refers to the number of people filing for unemployment compensation payments from the government. You have to have worked a certain amount of months to qualify for it.

    You make a claim because you have been paying unemployment insurance.

    There is a limit set on how much you can receive. Generally it’s half your pay up to a maximum and for 26 week (but they have just added a 13 week extension).
