Question by Male-Man: What are the ramifications to backing out of a job offer you have accepted?
Is it common for people to do this if they have a competing offer after already accepting a job? Can you be sued for this?

Did you sign some sort of contract saying you would stay with the company for x amount of time or face penalties of some kind? If not, no.
