What are my chances of getting a formal job offer with the police department?

I have gone threw all steps in the hiring process with an Arizona police agency. I have received a conditional job offer but here is the catch. All six positions have been filled and I am an alternate the first alternate. If someone quits or fails out I will be hired and sent to the academy what are the chances of this happening?

Skills like that will serve you well as the police, if you want to be a successful cop and not just someone who collect a pay check.
Is this the only academy for this year? Seems you would be a for sure if there is another academy. I don’t know the wash out rate where you are, but nationally the average is around 15%. It’s not a big chance, but you’re not dead in the water, so stay sharp and ready. Good luck to you.
