Weekly Republican Address 4/30/11: Rep. James Lankford (R-OK)
In this week’s address, Congressman Lankford discusses the impact of skyrocketing gas prices on families and small businesses across America. House Republicans have launched the American Energy Initiative in an effort to combat rising energy costs and create new jobs. Rep. Lankford also sets the record straight on the Republican budget that will help spur job growth, stop Washington from spending money it doesn’t have, and protect Medicare for current and future generations. We must continue to cut spending to get our nation’s crushing burden of debt under control.

Rep. Lankford doesn’t work for the people of Okla.’s 5th district – he only works for the people who agree with him. His stone throwing at the current administration is a disgrace to history – completely disregarding the Bush administration’s fault for creating our country’s dependency on foreign oil. The problem isn’t one administration/person in particular, it’s the whole of our so-called representatives who only serve their own political interests by promoting big business. REPLACE them all!
MORE GARBAGE FROM THE ANTI-AMERICAN GOP (GAS AND OIL PARTY)
no wonder republicans are in a steep decline
Republicans FAIL everything.

ALL REPUBLICANS DO IS PROTECT BILLIONAIRES AND GIVE TAX MONEY TO CORPORATIONS THAT ARE ALREADY VERY PROFITABLE
I hope they stop the Epa and allow us to drill to briing down gas prices as it did in 2008 , they are stopping texas drilling over a Lizard , Like we don’t have Thousands of those things here. Epa has Lost it’s mind
Neo-criminality it surely is, giving billions to these voracious oil companies, but the Oklahoma congressmen have no choice in whether to defend such unashamed
theft; their yearly payoffs depend on it.
Lankford’s a fool, as are the rest of them, especially Cole, Lucas (the Panhandle’s gift-giver to every farm czar from here to the Texas border and beyond), Boren, Sullivan, Inhofe, Coburn—the whole grubbing bunch.
WHATEVER THE GAS PRICES ARE………………WE PAY THEM!….ok……everybody with me, why act like you can really change the gas prices when YOU BECOME IMPORTANT YOU MY FRIEND WILL CHANE YOUR MIND….AMERICANS DONT OWN AMERICA ,THAT’S WHAT THEY LEARN IN THE INNER CIRCLES IN D.C….IT’S LIKE THAT AND THAT’S THE WAY IT IS!…..EVOLVE HOMEBOY!
Sharp guy.
Hope Lankford leads vs just throwing rocks at the President. If Lankford supports subsidies maybe he should call for huge subsides for oil refineries and reduce regulations so new refineries will be built.
I really wish they would go into detail about why the proposed budget doesn’t work or what better solutions the GOP will propose. DETAILS, POLITICIANS NEVER GIVE DETAILS. They think we’re stupid.
If the taxes for these fuel companies is raised as Obama is proposing. Do Obama and his followers really believe that these companies will sit back and eat the costs themselves? Get real Obama. Raising the taxes for these companies will just make it harder for regular people, that Vote I may add, to just struggle through life as we have to.
Look to your boss, the Federal Reserve (International Banking Cartel) to stop QE printing of $ which devalues US $.
You will never have a realistic budget projection that uses unstable $.
Inflation is the symptom, the Federal Reserve (International Banking Cartel) is the disease.
both parties are plutocrats
I agree with Obama. Take away oil comapies tax breaks! Does not make sense! Higher profits and tax breaks? Bush have never bailed out these companies so why help out oil companies that are making record profits? Those tax breaks will not cause more jobs just makes them richer. Good thinking Obama lets get to the root of the problem and it starts with taking money back from these crooks!
We are with you .
Besides that, the oil companies are also receiving some of the highest profits they’ve had since before the 2008 and this is due to the speculation keeping oil prices high. Why continue to present them with tax breaks/subsidies when they’re making record profits? Aren’t subsidies for the purpose of protecting an industry that needs it and not huge multinational corporations?
Actually, you just say a lot of words without any subsistence. Playing politics with the debt limit is horrid, and it shows that you have no earthly idea what you’re doing from an economic sense.
As for those subsidies on the Oil industry, etc., economics supports again and again the fact that subsidies hurt the market. It leads to inefficiency in the market by not allowing the market to reach it’s natural equilibirium point.
