@TonyUnplugged – agree 100%. IMO, even the old farts of today are at a net loss. The only real beneficiaries of SS were the earliest recipients in the 40s, just as with *any* Ponzi scheme. Even the old farts of today are at a net loss on SS. Not as bad as my generation (we’ll never see a dime).
The biggest losers are the later baby boomers. They’ll have paid their entire working lives and suddenly get cut off when the economy collapses in a few years. I give our economy until 2016, tops.

@1998awest – Social Security and Medicare are ponzi schemes. Empty promises made to taxpayers that can never be fulfilled.
Only the lucky farts who are using up benefits well beyond what they paid for will make out on the Social Secuirty and Medicare ponzi schemes.

How can Tarpley say MediCare has saved countless lives? Were there corpses piled in city streets before these programs? Let’s see some evidence of this claim.
Also, I’m not sure how a principled liberal could lionize a war mongering crook like LBJ. Johnson turned Social Security (FDR’s “great achievement”) into a Ponzi scheme by stealing funds from it to paper over his guns and butter budget.
He’s right about Obama, though.
