UNEMPLOYMENT EXTENSIONS, UNEMPLOYMENT TALK, THOUGHTS ON UNEMPLOYMENT Washington abandoned millions of long term unemployed by failing to include any help in their “so called” unemployment extension in HR 4213 even though the Senate sold this in the media as “extending vital emergency benefits through the end of this year”. Truth is they lied. ENOUGH of the little 6 week extensions for only a few states. The economy will not be fixed in 6 weeks. The long term unemployed in all 50 states need Congress to extend the weekly benefits through the end of 2010 and hopefully do it before their Spring Vacation. We cannot wait.

I have been unemployed for over a year I have ran out of benefits, I will lose my home next month,I have no water, i will lose electric next week, I eat once a day so my two year old can eat. I will steal if it comes to feeding my child. Help us please!!!! 30 years I have worked, I made $75,000.00 and the benefits feel like povery to me.But I want to eat, and have electric and water, so help us please help us!!!!!

Good information, sad nobody is listening. I’ve earned 6 figures most of my career. Can’t find a job to save my life. Can’t even get a 10 dollar an hour job. Geez I paid twice that in taxes for 20 years! Now nothing. God bless America!

Its more political posturing, Sen Durbin introduced legislation today, 5/3/2010 to implement a national ID card. Halliburton and BP/Amoco just provided us one of the worst environmental disasters in our history, and they are worried about a national ID card. WE NEED A TIER V to survive until we can find a job!!! I live in Michigan, there aren’t many jobs here. Can’t move, no money left and where would I go??? All the other states are hurting now too. Help us- you helped the banks now help the PEOPLE.

I finally got a job been looking for about 2 years the only call back i got was fron US Census the only problem is that it’s a temporairy thing. I want to school a couple years back for construction to better my life and added 10k to my student loans, but when I graduated the carpentry union stop accecpting applications. Carpentry Union will be taking apps this year so I hope this is the tuen around year for all unemployed. DON’T GET DISCOURAGE MY FELLOW AMERICANS WE WILL MAKE IT OUT OF THIS.
I pray as i go attempt to sleep tonight that all of us unfortunate people unemployed americans to find suitable work to take care of our livelyhood and even more so that there is compassion in congress to pass a tier five ive been unemployed now for over three years and i am on my last string this is unreal i cant stand to hear how the economy is rebounding i have yet to see it here in california i hope to god that we hear some good news this week

I know how you feel since I myself would be a 99er now if I hadn’t worked at all in the last 2 Years, since it has been more than 99 Weeks since I last worked Full-Time (106 Weeks and counting) although since I have worked here and there, there have been certain weeks where I got either partial or no Unemployment Compensation so I’m only around Week 85 or so but my benefits will run out soon and I am worried what will happen afterwords
We are not only 99er’s, we are now referred to as the “PERMANENTLY UNEMPLOYED”. I exhausted my Tier IV benefits and on the check stub of the 4th and 5th check it stated: “PERMANENTLY UNEMPLOYED CLAIMANTS WILL BE REGISTERED WITH JOB SERVICE. FAILURE TO RESPOND WHEN CALLED BY JOB SERVICE WILL RESULT IN LOSS OF BENEFITS.” I have been registered with Job Service (I thought) since the day I signed up for benefits after my lay-off. They have NEVER called me to go on an interview for a job. All interviews I’ve had were found on my own. Also, WHAT LOSS OF BENEFITS ARE THEY TALKING ABOUT, if I’ve exhausted Tier IV???????? Tier V is desperately needed and I’ve donated as much as I could afford to send to WorldNewsVine to help get the Tier V petition to Washington. Here’s hoping it works.
I am about to lose my unemployment insurance in 2 weeks. What now?
I have been looking for ajob for 2 years and cannot find one despite making interviews and sending E-mails to prospective employers.
I will lose my apartment and have no relatives nearby.
I need unemployment just to survive… for food, for rent, etc.
WE MUST HAVE AN EXT3ENSION UNTILE DECEMBER 2010. If not, hundreds of thousands of Americans will be left homeless. It will a magnitude greater than the great Depession.

i been jobless since nov 14 and june is may end of my unenployment
insurance next month i need to pay my kids school and theres is no way to find to pay it those people say theres is a job but ill been looking all over ang apply until now i dont recieve any call of those job so till me is this what i get for working 25years hope the congress think about what what were going through hope they can find themself this is not only money is about lifes those million american lost there job
We are no doubt headed for another even worse great depression, if we vote the republican party back in office and let them gain seats in congress. We the American Middle Class Workers are doomed and so will our families be living in poverty. The republican party votes no on every extension for the unemployed. Lets all work, to not allow them to continue to call us all drug addicts,lazy,people that do not want to work and just plain good for nothing! Thats what they try to tell other Americans that have not been in our shoes yet! Vote them out!! If you want and extension, we need to weed them out of congress. Take names of the republicans that vote no for our extensions. Then take the names with you to the polls and vote them out of office and put a Democrat in their seat, so we can survive! Its our only hope! We need to also show them, we do not condone their racial tactics! We the people……. I am a white female with 6 years of college and a degree, I have worked 30 years! I am not a drug addict!! And I am not lazy!! To all the unemployed… Vote for your democratic leaders to open the doors to recovery for us! Otherwise we are clearly doomed!
If 230 or 260 a week is bad… it is something.. but to make a long story short. There are JOBS out there several for someone not to find a job in 2 years… you must not be looking! The United States has so many jobs and opportunities- This individual that made this statement if that is what you would like to call it.. has the time to gripe and bitch then take the time to go look for a job. I would bet this person is lazy and obese and enjoys doing nothing but make threats and drama. yep just ended my 5th tier waiting on that big ol check “sarcasm” of 250 that will be gone before I can see it…on OVERDRAFTS….hello WE WILL ALL BE HOMELESS HELLO anybody out there….oh but 10 million went to Pakistan…um are they paying for the world trade center to be rebuilt? WHO IS paying for that?
Sondra I’ve been looking in multi cities and states for 2 years too..pray for everything….to work out as I have a feeling all of us that are learnign to depend on God during this time will already know how to handle the stress of it…I know it’s horrible. Take the time to work out to relieve the stress. NO MATTER WHAT!
Q & C your absolutely wrong one job I tried to get had over 500 resumes in 2 days, one place had 1800 resumes for 6 jobs. I’ve looked everywhere in multi states the jobs on the govt boards are recruiters and they don’t have jobs, I am registered with COUNTLESS agencies, looked on many city and states and went on cnn.com 30 minute pitch which was national and found nothing…your completely ignorant.

Extending unemployment insurance benefits to the “Tier 5″ unemployed is essential.
As we spend every moment searching for a job, a loss of Tier 5 UI assistance is forcing us into losing every asset that has enabled us to afford food, gas to drive our cars to job interviews, losing our homes and destroying the lives of hard working American’s who are trying to cope with unbelievable personal and financial losses.
Please keep this issue “front and center” until these careless politicians grasp the level of financial desperation into which we are being dumped.Extend Tier 5 UI coverage to the “99ers” who have given so much to their country and their former employers.

I just don’t understand what the fuss is. I lost work six months ago and are receiving $2500 a month UE. My wife is disabled and gets about $2700 a month SSDI. Our mortgage is only $750 a month, no car payments, no credit cards and expenses for cell, internet, TV, phone total about $200 monthly and cobra insurance is $425. This is great!
Why work? I can’t go out to dinner everynight like I used to and I can’t get my third 60″ 3D HDTV, but I’m comfortable.
cadmaster101. most people only get half the UE you do and not everyone has a disabled spouse. not only can they not afford the insurance, they cant afford the first 60″ tv much less the third. most just try to pay utility bills and put food on the table. i think its very heartless for you to be rubbing it in that you are doing so well when there are so many people hurting!!!!!!! hope you lose your money then you’d see “WHY WORK”!!!!!!
