Unemployment Claims & Applications Drop in Last Week
Unemployment benefit applications for first time applicants dropped in the past week. The U.S. Department of Labor said Thursday first-time claims for jobless benefits fell by 23,000 in the week ending Oct. 16. The four-week rolling average of initial claims fell by 4,250 to 458,000.
