So conservatives, using your logic on taxes if we eliminate state sales taxes what will happen to the economy?

Question by : So conservatives, using your logic on taxes if we eliminate state sales taxes what will happen to the economy?
Will consumption shoot off of the charts, spurring our economy? Or will consumer items be a little bit cheaper but not really affecting consumer spending dramatically?
Using your logic; a state sales tax puts a ‘drag’ on consumption and eliminating it will cause consumption to instantly soar. Right?

Do you think Obama’s moratorium on foreclosures will mean disaster for mortgage lenders?

Question by Theo N: Do you think Obama’s moratorium on foreclosures will mean disaster for mortgage lenders?
Obama promised a 3 month moratorium on foreclosures. Do you think that by blocking banks from foreclosing on mortgages that are in default will make even more people who are struggling decide not to meet their mortgage obligations?

Best answer:

Answer by Rick
Sure Does!
What the small socialist mind doesn’t comprehend – our financial institutions run on small percentages. If the default percentages hit a certain point – markets freeze up – capital won’t be exchanged – businesses start failing – unemployment rises. Stalling payments will only exacerbate the problem.

What will the amount of foreclosures do to the real estate market?

Question by kyojo: What will the amount of foreclosures do to the real estate market?
I have not been able to find the numbers, however from what I understand banks have a significant amount of them on their books. What I mean by significant is that there are enough that might matter to new developments.

Best answer:

Answer by Jim L
The number of foreclosures on the books is not known for sure (and it is a changing number), but estimates say that the number of foreclosures could increase the number of houses on the real estate market by 30% to as much as 50%. These foreclosures can and will affect both the demand for single family housing and also keep home prices down. Like anything in the real estate market some areas are affected more than others.

You would think it is a sin by the way they act. So I ask them to put it in a water cup. The worker had to do it so no one would see really quick. Seriously how much trouble could you get in? Why is that rule the way it is?
Cranky- Did not try that yet, I do get annoyed that they do that.
Krissy- Then don’t answer the question… DUH

I Feel Very Sick and Have No Idea What Is Going on! (Flu-type) Will You Please Help Me?

Question by FilmFortune: I Feel Very Sick and Have No Idea What Is Going on! (Flu-type) Will You Please Help Me?
This is embarrassing but I am genuinely worried about what is happening to me. I am uninsured (and unemployed) because of the economy so it is nearly impossible to see a medical professional at this time.

Starting last night I developed a “frog in your throat” sort of cough, it got gradually worse by the time we went to sleep but stopped long enough to let me *fall* asleep. Not *stay* asleep. Come 5AM, I was awakened with terrible chills and pain. (It’s not the first time I’ve had the following sensation…) I woke up shivering, freezing TO THE BONE. I started coughing nonstop until 6 am or so and as the coughing intensified it made me vomit twice in 30 minutes. I took a hot shower but that only provided temporary relief. In addition to the nagging (smoker’s) cough (because I smoke a pack a day), I have soreness and writhing aches in my lower back and legs. Like from sitting too much. But I don’t. Also runny nose and sharp headache. All I have is ibuprofen and calcium pills – HELP!
Please do not refer me to WebMD, they will narrow me down to oh, 1000 sicknesses. Not good enough. Also please no lectures on smoking. I will quit as soon as I purchase Chantix in Feb.

If I quit before getting laid off, will I get unemployment benefits?

Question by AmitA25: If I quit before getting laid off, will I get unemployment benefits?
My company is laying off a third of the workforce. I don’t know whether I will be laid off but if I quit before the layoffs, would I be able to get unemployment benefits? My reason for quitting is that getting laid off looks worse than quitting and makes it harder to get jobs in the future. I plan to leave sometime in the future anyway, so trying to hang on to the job is not important.

Best answer:

Answer by Ryan M
If you quit, then you will NOT be able to get benefits. In short, you cannot voluntarily become unemployed AND expect the taxpayers to support you. Also, quitting looks WORSE than getting laid off.

Republicans are just too lazy to go out and get a job.

They’d rather sit in a Computer Lab, on Mom & Pop’s dime, and bash our country including our fairly elected president, than to fill out a job application.
