Will going into foreclosure affect my ability to find a job and rent an apartment in the future?

Question by aeg22: Will going into foreclosure affect my ability to find a job and rent an apartment in the future?
Also, will it affect my present job, as far as rate increase or getting fired if they will know i will go into foreclosure?

Best answer:

Answer by Andrew
It will probably affect your ability to rent higher-end apartments. It will definitely affect your ability to get loans, mortgages, and other lines of credit.

It shouldn’t have any effect on your (current or future) job, unless you require a security clearance where they check your credit.

After quantitative easing is done, will metals get hit hard?

Question by i like cereal: After quantitative easing is done, will metals get hit hard?
Will a stronger dollar necessarily mean a weaker metal? Gold has had a spectacular run this year – will that metal in particular be hit the hardest?

Best answer:

Answer by JoeyV
If we thought that quantitative easing ending necessaily meant for a stronger dollar we could make unlimited amounts of money shorting the dollar. I think metals are going to get hit hard when everyone realizes that there is no worth to them. I’m old enough to have seen bubble after bubble after bubble. This is even the third silver bubble I remember and it will end the same way as the other ones – two weeks of limit down days. Last time, silver was piled so high in the offices of EF Hutton, that people were coming into work and calling janitors to “move this crap out of my office”. We’ve got a few more weeks and then all the dumb money will be played out.

Will the American government have to bail out Capitalism again with a QE3 Quantitative Easing aka stimulus?

Question by : Will the American government have to bail out Capitalism again with a QE3 Quantitative Easing aka stimulus?
It is time for the people that messed up Capitalism to be help accountable. Our government keeps dumping money into the system and getting nothing but cuts in return. If you want a smaller government you have to create problems in the economy so government will jump in with spending trying to save its people. They will try around Xmas when we are not paying attention to politics and yes Republicans will vote for it, they know Wall Street wants that money dumped into the system.

How will the following affect the labor force participation rates, labor supply, and unemployment?

Question by : How will the following affect the labor force participation rates, labor supply, and unemployment?
A. Because the retired elderly are a larger and larger fraction of the US population, Congress and the president decide to raise the Social Security tax on individuals to continue paying benefits to the elderly.

B. A national child care program is enacted, requiring employers to provide free child care services.

C. The US government reduces restrictions on immigration into the US

D. The welfare system is eliminated.

E. The government subsidizes the purchase of new capital by firms (an investment tax credit)

Best answer:

Answer by ekonomix
A
Taxes go up, this has 2 effects, on one hand people will be discouraged fro working because working is less valuabe, on the other hand they will have to work more in order to get the same amount of money.
Overall they will ask for more money for the same amount of work, shifting supply of labour up, increasing wages, reducing employment.
Labour force participation rates fall, labour supply falls, unemployment rises.

B
Free child care means workers cost more.
More women try to join the labour force since someone will take care of the kids.
Labour force participation rises, labour supply rises, but unemployment rises as employers pay wages+childcare fees..

C
Reducing immigration restrictions increases labour supply, no determinate impact on labour participation, employment rises.

D
Welfare is eliminated will push people to work. Labour participation rises, labour supply rises, unemployment falls as wages fall.

E
New capital makes labour more productive, increasing demad for labour.
Labour participation and supply are unchanged, but unemployment falls.
