My green card expires this month and I am receiving unemployment insurance. I don’t want to renovate it because I would like to apply for US citizenship. Because if I am going to pay more or less $ 500 might as well go towards becoming part of this country, I have been here since 1977 might as well, otherwise in another ten years I would be making another payment of $ 500 again. How would this affect me receiving those unemployment checks if I let it expire.

If you haven’t already applied for US Citizenship you will need to renew your green card. If you applied for citizenship and your green card was going to expire 6 months from now then you will not need to renew it. As for your unemployment, you will need to check with the unemployment office. If you do not renew your green card or haven’t yet applied for US citizenship then you have no legal status in the USA and therefore you are not entitled to receive unemployment benefits.

They say they want to put them into drug treatment programs, but, what about hitting bottom and wanting it? Sounds like a waste of money if they don’t want this treatment. But maybe the pshychologists will be working full time!? But which is cheaper, prison guards or psychologists? Last I remember, shrinks get $ 100 per hour and more….your tax dollars hard at work with people that don’t really want the treatment! Hey, and drugs to combat this too! That oughta do ya! $ 100 per week for each prisoner on ridilin or what have you?
And disability checks for the bipolar and adhd diagnoses and who knows what else so the shrinks can keep the dough perpetually feeding them?

Seems to me the jobless rate goes higher and the honest, hardworking, tax paying people of our country have another mouth to feed.

I missed one week to claim the unemployment benefits in New York State. I filed the claim 4 days late. My questions are:
- Do I have to do anything? Do I need to reclaim or register again?
- What’s going to happen to the week’s payment? Am I going to lose the benefits for that week? Or is one week benefits going to be added at the end so that as total I’ll get the same employment amount?
If you have any ideas, suggestions or experience I would really appreciate it!

You should call your unemployment office and tell them what happened. Your in titled to all your benefits.

Your UI benefits are placed on hold. In most cased, for a standard birth it would be 6-weeks for a c-section 8-weeks. When you are able to work and actively searching for work, the claim can be reactivated.
In the past, all you needed to do was specify on the bi-weekly claim, you just say that you were not actively looking for work during the period. You should check b/c this may have changed.

What happens if I find a job and then the bill will pass, say later on on December: can I still be eligible to collect even if I found a temp job?
I mean : does a temporary job interrupt unemployment eligibility?

Yes it does, in my state anyway, check with the bureau in yours to be sure.
That, more than any claims of laziness is why people don’t just take any old job at any old wage that they can get.

The Rothschild’s and Rockefeller’s make a lot of money. Interest rates if high will mean that more investors, will buy the currency, making it Strong. Low interest rates make the currency weak. Which all has to do about exports and balance of payments. However most western countries forget that we import far more than we export and that our manufacturing base has diminished. We have moved into a leisure service orientated industry. So for places like Britain and USA a strong currency benefits them. But because they wont admit the failure in fiscal policy say having weak currency is good for us. There is the whole investment, and inflation argument and that’s too deep to go into.

I was told that If they offer you the 5th job you picked and you turn it down then your screwed and are bumped to the end of the list for jobs again…..is this true? hows the whole thing go down?

Best piece of advice: Take the offer, otherwise you might just find yourself shipping on an open contract. Should have gone Army, 100% of jobs, guaranteed in writing, prior to enlistment. No open contracts, or other Air Force bait & switch gimmicks.
