Speaker Pelosi – Extending Unemployment Compensation

The House has just passed the Emergency Extended Unemployment Compensation Act, HR 5749. The legislation will immediately provide up to 13 weeks of extended unemployment benefits in every state to workers exhausting the 26 weeks of regular unemployment benefits, providing much-needed relief to 3.8 million unemployed workers to assist them with rapidly rising gas and food costs, while they continue to struggle to find work in the slowing economy. Speaker Nancy Pelosi spoke in favor.

@1NationConservative2: We’d better leave it that we don’t agree. Seems like we did that before.

  • judyleasugar97:

@1NationConservative2: No, MSNBC speaks the truth.

  • judyleasugar97:

@1NationConservative2: Maybe you aren’t aware of Wall Street speculation affecting the market. You should read up about that.

  • judyleasugar97:

@1NationConservative2: Interesting the price of gas is going up, when the feds give the oil companies huge subsidies to keep prices down. Prices on everything across the board are going up because of Wall Street speculation and you know it. Spare me the Fox channel koolaid.

@1NationConservative2: I think you know as well as I do money from the budget cuts conservatives are proposing are going right into the pockets of the wealthiest in the form of tax incentives. That’s wasteful.

  • judyleasugar97:

@1NationConservative2: I pay taxes. You want to think I’m a member of some indolent group, but no, I work, I pay taxes, I own my own business. And I think taxes on the very wealthy should be increased.

  • judyleasugar97:

@1NationConservative2: Charles Dickens was wise beyond any of you people. I’m not worried. Next elections the American people will speak, and not in favor of the Tea Party.

  • judyleasugar97:

@1NationConservative2: There is no point in continuing this conversation, you’re not listening to me.

  • judyleasugar97:

    : You lose.

  • judyleasugar97:

@1NationConservative2: Charles Dickens was promoting liberal views in his stories by illustrating the affects of an uncaring society on the poor. MORON. I am in favor of taxing the super wealthy 40 percent. They don’t even pay 15 percent right now, if that.

  • judyleasugar97:

@1NationConservative2: Raise taxes on the wealthy to where they were under Clinton and there would be no national debt. Also, end subsidies to wealthy corporations. Exxon Mobil paid no taxes last year. That’s not right.

  • judyleasugar97:

@1NationConservative2: Your statement only holds true if the Democrats trying to save what’s left of the middle class were some kind of sin. The Republicans have created a lot of needless suffering, that makes them the evil ones. I hope they burn in hell.

  • judyleasugar97:

@1NationConservative2: People who make over a million dollars a year should pay at least 40 percent income tax. They should consider it their contribution to society. It’s not all about you, y’know? If you want to see what selfish ideology leads to read Charles Dickens. It doesn’t work, only creates suffering.

  • judyleasugar97:

@1NationConservative2: The opposite is true. When the middle and lower classes have more money they spend it and it helps the economy. The wealthy are sitting on trillions of dollars. They don’t hire workers even though they certainly could. RAISE TAXES ON THE WEALTHY. At least cut off the subsidies.

  • judyleasugar97:

@1NationConservative2: Don’t cut programs for middle and lower income to balance the current budget, raise taxes on the wealthy.

  • judyleasugar97:

@1NationConservative2: You know as well as I do the Republicans are fighting the budget the Democrats have proposed because they want to take even more away from the middle and lower income people. I don’t know what you mean, I’m an educated person.

  • judyleasugar97:

@1NationConservative2: Yeah. Let’s spend it on the people. As in the middle class. NOT the wealthy.

  • judyleasugar97:

@1NationConservative2: The government hands over tax money in the form of tax credits and subsidies to the wealthy / corporations that they don’t need. In fact, not only do the top corporations use loopholes to pay NO TAXES they get “rebate” checks from the government. Unbelievable.

  • judyleasugar97:

@1NationConservative2: It’s not 4 trillion, but even if it was I’d much rather he amass debt trying to help the middle class than simply handing it to the wealthy the way Bush did. You people need to get out of the way, you’re destroying your own country.

  • judyleasugar97:

@Texmurphy51: Put the people who teach our children, which is a difficult job, on the level of Walmart workers who have no union, no benefits and get low pay? They have enough trouble getting people to teach now. You should be demanding that you get more pay, not demanding others get less, idiot.
