SmarTrend Morning Market Update: July 29, 2010: Jobless Claims Dip
USstock futures are trading higher Thursday ahead of data on weekly jobless claims and an earnings report from Exxon Mobil (NYSE:XOM). The Labor Department will report weekly jobless claims at 8:30 AM ET. In corporate news, Exxon Mobil is expected to report earnings of .46 per share on revenues of .86 billion. Motorola, Inc. (NYSE:MOT) posted Q2 EPS of .09, ex-items, ahead of consensus estimates of .08 per share. Net sales were .414 billion, down from the year-ago period’s net sales of .497 billion; analysts expected .19 billion. The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJI) futures are trading 45.00 points above fair value, the S&P500 (INX) futures are trading 5.50 points above fair value, and the Nasdaq Composite (IXIC) futures are trading 6.50 points above fair value.
