Following a Republican objection, Sheldon took to the Senate floor urging his colleagues to extend unemployment insurance set to expire on Sunday for thousands of Americans. Sheldon shared the story of Carole Thomasian, a North Providence resident who has been unemployed for two years making and who would benefit from the extension of the unemployment benefits.
