Awesome speech and total B.S. If you would like me to provide specific examples simply ask. He has zero clue how to run a business, what businesses need in order to hire and expand and he has obviously never checked simple data on unemployment benefits.

Nearly 94% of people mysteriously get a job with less than two weeks remaining on their unemployment benefits.

These lower income people he talks about not getting their fair share of tax breaks – they don’t pay ANY taxes.

America is corrupt both at home and abroad; whether it be here at home through a rubber stamp by a state and federal judge or abroad under the guise of promoting democracy, it’s the same bottom-line – the promotion of corruption. Or, whether it’s through unconditional financial support of Israel who carelessly murders thousands of innocent Palestinians with US tax dollars.

This post is why there will never be a Patricia & Anyone comedy duo unless humorless drivel suddenly becomes ironically popular.

  • Bloodmuffin6:

@PatriciaCookFind1 The pay is actually quite good

    I am all about socialistimsism

  • LesPaulCustom79:

Congress is where failed comedians go to spread radical left-wing socialistism.

@PatriciaCookFind1 whats it like to be retarded?

  • wildkat8688:

How can the bottom 60% of Americans get tax cuts when almost 50% of Americans are receiving more from the government then they are paying to it?

  • teejscorner:

I wish I could reach through the screen and high five him! That was an awesome speech. I was moved. Way to go Sen. Franken!

  • VtotheVizzo:

who is the hottie to the left?

  • ThereseB37:

I would vote for him for president too. As much as I have loved Obama, he definitely needs a dose of Frankenincense! Both of my sons have small businesses, and what a joke: they can’t get a loan for diddle squat, and are outright told it’s because they are not yet wealthy. Duh! Welcome to the corporate states of America! Therese

    @PatriciaCookFind1

No President in history would dare make these tax cuts permanent, not even Bush. You can’t reduce a deficit by continuing these tax cuts.

    @soarom1
We just got rid of dozens just like him in both houses. And yes they were on both sides of the isle. We need a fresh face for President, a true independent, who understands the machine and knows how to run it. Someone who can keep both parties on track and working for we the people, not we the party.

  • TheKaos007:

A comedian speaking for the Democratic party how appropriate..LOL

  • sasha031:

@Morbius50 Al would make a great President.

  • johnthorpe23:

Actually, Patricia, you can tax your way out of debt. That’s how the government raises the money necessary to pay the debt down.

You can also print currency to get out of debt. In fact, inflation (which more money is a creator of), helps debtors at the expense of those holding the debt.

You can also, oddly enough, borrow your way out of debt, if you spend the money wisely. Wherever you work, they almost certainly did not pay cash for the building and equipment.

It must be rough to be so wrong

  • Cathrynesperance:

He’s wonderful. Thank God there are still people like him.

  • 3Zydeco:

@MarkieBee007 Some of our founding fathers, including Madison, truly believed the sole purpose of government was to protect the opulent minority from the majority. Or more simply stated, protect the haves from the have nots. Franken is yet another in a long line of hundreds of past and present elected officials with an opposing view. Why after all these years are we still having this debate.

  • benympls:

Dont be shlub just because the white house sucks, keep fighting hard for progressives & minnesotans

  • MarkieBee007:

hey Zydeco…you think it’s equal when the rich pay 35 percent on their income when you and I pay 38.5 percent? Is that the equality you were talking about? Because that’s what the Bush tax cuts did. We all used to pay right around 38-40 percent in federal tax. Since 2001 the rich have been paying on average three to four percent less on the money they made. Is that fair? Is that equal? Did you sleep through the Bush years?

  • MarkieBee007:

Al Franken once again exposes the Republicans for what they are – Liars and only concerned about the rich and ultra-rich. If you are middle-class and you voted foe the GOP on your ballot then you just voted against your own economic self-interest. Why do you continue to do this?

  • patrioticlib:

How can you disagree with Franken if you want “equality for all Americans”? What do those 3 words mean to you. Rhetorical question, you don;t have to answer me. I am just astounded by how you think that what Franken is saying is promoting “inequality” for all Americans because he wants the Bush tax cuts to expire. You make no sense.

  • tgold1968:

Because he’s good enough, smart enough, and gosh darnit… people like him.

  • 3Zydeco:

This sorry fool must have slept through the mid terms and never got the message. We the people believe in equality for all Americans, all races, all creeds, all income levels. Hard to believe the Senator actually mad a living in the entertainment business, or maybe he did, this speech sounds more like a SNL script.
