Yes, call them, or drop in to the office in person if it’s convenient for you.
Congratulations on being honest! And good luck finding a new job.

Either way, be prepared to explain. Have your story ready but don’t volunteer it. “Fired” implies the separation the employer’s decision because of something you did wrong. It’s suspicious. “Laid off” implies a reduction in force or downsizing. “You left/quit” implies the separation was your decision.
A “mutual decision” implies they asked you to quit. It’s usually offered to management to save face so that they’re neither fired or quit. It’s not an option usually given to peons.
You will not be eligible to collect unemployment compensation if you were fired for gross misconduct. Your parents may not be aware of this but the unemployment office does not just go ahead and process your claim based on the information you provide. They will also contact your former employer to find out why you no longer work there. The employer is not going to say you were laid off through no fault of your own if that’s not what really happened. If you are old enough to work, you should be old enough to make your own decisions, and be an adult about it. You are responsible for filling out the claim truthfully. If you cannot do that, you cannot collect. Trying to change the information on a claim that was filed electronically may be difficult, if not impossible. Let this be a learning experience that lying about the truth will get you nowhere.
