News Update: The Labor Department Reported Jobless Claims Fell To 473000 Last Week
The Labor Department reported that people filing first-time claims for unemployment benefits fell 31000 to 473000 last week, which is the first decline in one month. Economists had expected initial claims to drop to 490000 last week. The four-week average of initial claims rose slightly, up 3250 to 486750.
