New Orleans & United Nations – What did the UN Come to find out?

An United Nations advisory group headed to New Orleans this week on a fact-finding mission to investigate housing issues related to the displacement of residents following Hurricane Katrina. The Advisory Group on Forced Evictions, a group of international housing experts, spent the week meeting with and interviewing New Orleans residents struggling with affordable housing issues. As the Times-Picayune reported, the group talked to “homeless people living in abandoned buildings, former public-housing residents from the demolished ‘Big Four’ complexes, low-income people struggling with steep post-Katrina rents and Mid-City residents whose houses are in the footprint of a proposed Louisiana State University hospital.” The United Nations has shown a special interest in New Orleans since Katrina (this will be the third visit by an international authority in the past three years). The UN has issued several statements on ways the US response to Hurricanes Katrina and Rita violated international human rights law. Maurice Carver leads the discussion with his guests.

There you go making assumptions that every person of color was a criminals or on welfare. The assumption is wrong and misleading and some might say RACIST.
Tear down projects full of criminals and assholes, sounds good to me. they dont want chocolate city anymore; GOOD, IT WAS A FAILURE.
When new orleans was chocolate city its was a failed state leading in every bad category I HOPE CHOCOLATE CITY NEVER COMES BACK IT WAS A FAILURE FULL OF DEATH, CRIME, IGNORANCE, AND CORRUPTION.
and why would anyone rebuild homes in high crime areas were most of the damage was done by katrina; the hell with that leave those areas CLEARED OUT finally some peace. WHY REBUILD SO CRIMINALS WILL HAVE A PLACE TO LIVE; FUCK THAT. AMERICAN GOVERNMENT SAVE OUR MONEY AND US IT FOR SOMETHING ELSE.
The american government and new orleans officals and leaders believe the same thing that im saying. If they put money into building up new orleans what return on there investment are they going to get; NO POSITIVE RETURN. SO THATS WHY NEW ORLEANS IS STILL NOT FIXED UP AFTER KATRINA. its not worth it.
New orleans was a failed state with failed residence failing in every category; bring new orleans back are you crazy. new orleans was leading in every bad category before katrina let it stay like it is anyone who puts money in new orleans has to bring in people with a better mind set towards life because those losers who were there before katrina will only mess it up again the truth has been typed HA HA HA.
I have not heard anything on the news about the UN visit to New Orleans.
