At a press conference on Thursday, Pelosi, who was defending a jobless benefits extension bill, said that unemployment benefits are creating jobs faster than practically any other program.
“It injects demand into the economy,” Pelosi said. “It creates jobs faster than almost any other initiative you can name.”
Have you figured how backward and idiotic this logic is?

Pelosi is and idiot with a capital “I”. Wait, give her credit, a capital “Idiot”. The really scary part is she is 2 heartbeats from the oval office.
What she’s saying is as far as programs repubs are attacking, programs that put money into the hands of Americans at least are putting money into our own economy. Unlike buying oil, or paying for wars, or foreign aid.

If you stop and think for a moment, you will realize she is right. If the unemployed had no money to spend, there would be less demand in the system. SInce they do have money, their money creates demands. These demands force people to create supplies. Supplies don’t come out of thin air. People with jobs create and move them.
this proves that congress should have a yearly psych eval and a urinalysis every 24 hours
You want people who have lost their jobs to keep spending until they have found a new job, because any kind of spending creates jobs.

Economists agree with her. Unemployment benefits have the highest multiplier effect. Is it logical to think that if they weren’t unemployed and receiving unemployment, they would be employed? Of course not. When 200 people apply for one job in a recession, what do you think happens.
As a Democrat, I’ll admit that unemployment benefits have run their course, there are jobs, just not good paying jobs like the ones that some people lost.
There is an overall feeling that “it’s not worth my time to work for less”………..true story, had an applicant state this today when he learned of the wage.
We are a nation in trouble, and it goes beyond the party fighting that we find here on Yahoo politics!

Liberal logic means the more people that are unemployed…they more jobs that creates.
People who earn money from the PRIVATE sector stimulate the economy. You can’t take money from the successful , give it to the lazy, and expect our economy to grow. It’s a cycle of money. No new money is injected.
The ideas are simple:
1. give money to the rich and they will invest it to be richer and build new things and hire workers.
2. give money to the unemployed and they will continue to pay bills they got when they were working, they will continue to shop, and support the economy.
I go with 2, because if the rich wanted to build and invest they do so. What’s holding them back, “buyer’s confidence”. Folks are afraid to spend because they think they will be unemployed.
But this turns to a win win for Obama, if he gets the extension, he wins. If it’s cancelled, he wins by making Republicans look like jerks and heartless. Further the unemployment rate would drop below Bush unemployment rates (instant recovery). Don’t worry Obama will stop the extension quietly when it’s just before his reelection time.
Once you accept 2+2=5 and ignorance is strength, the rest of this type of doublethink will come more easily to you.
Don’t worry, you will be happier when your prevailing mental condition is controlled insanity like hers.
By using this logic, you would have everyone back to work if the unemployment rate was 100%. The one thing that creates jobs faster and bigger than any program is a major tax cut across all incomes and businesses and reduce/cut unnecessary government spending.
Also pass laws that taxes companies for what they would have to pay for jobs they send overseas and get rid of tax write offs for getting rid of American jobs.
John F. Kennedy promoted this and so did Ronald Reagan.

see giving FREE money to people creates jobs, well not for the people getting the FREE money but others who hand it out
