  • Well Duh!:

Obama lied yet again. Him, his administration, and his democrat controlled congress are failing this nation repeatedly and extensively.

more stimulus dollars at work……seems that the roads and bridges aren’t making good christmas presents this year………Obama’s stimulus only created or saved “temporary” jobs…

Thats just in ONE WEEK! 474,000 JOBS GONE!! I think the 10.2 moving to 10 is a lie! They probably counted jobs created for prisoners to build solar panels- who make one dollar an hour.

According to President Obama, the rise in jobless claim is President George W. Bush fault.

The truth is that the democratic spending, cap and trade and health care reform efforts are scaring businesses to hire people because they do not know the cost.

Jobless claims have been dropping for the last 11 months. High yes but still dropping from the previous months.*

  • Well?:

Does that mean the economy really isn’t on the road to recovery….again?

It’s called Obamanomics! You know where Everyone loses their jobs and has to rely on the Government for everything!

It has always been difficult to get a job between Thanksgiving and New Years. I have NEVER noticed jobs being plentiful during the holiday season.

You do recognize there is more to the job market than just Christmas greed, right?

According to labor statistics, the retail sector did hire an additional 57 thousand people during the month of november. Most of these jobs however are temporary and low paying. It is a help to those on unemployment however or those underemployed. Without the seasonal hirings, the unemployment rate is the country would have remained at 10.2%.

The administration is touting the newest figure as a sign that things are improving. I question that assessment for two reasons. First, the lowering of the rate of unemployment is likely to have been the direct result of the seasonal hiring. Second, even having fewer new unemployment claims is not necessarily a sign that things are improving. It only means that the companies have reached the point where they can no longer lay off people if they want to keep their doors open at all. It means that we have probably reached the low point for now. Even the administration is saying that no direct hiring will occur until at least mid 2010. The only one who has done extensive hiring since the recession began is the government itself. It has increased its number of employees by nearly twenty thousand in the past eighteen months. This does not bode well for the rest of the country when it comes to supporting private businesses.
