Many of the chronic unemployed will not apply for jobs the illegals take willingly. Would you be in favor of passing legislation requiring the chronic unemployed to get off their duffs and apply for jobs rather than have tax payers continue to take care of them.

the unemployed in most states have to prove that they have been to 3 interviews per week..

The notion that illegals take jobs that Americans do not want is utter Bull$ hit. A 2009 study found:
•Of the 465 civilian occupations, only four are majority immigrant. These four occupations account for less than 1 percent of the total U.S. workforce. Moreover, native-born Americans comprise 47 percent of workers in these occupations.
•Many jobs often thought to be overwhelmingly immigrant are in fact majority native-born:
◦Maids and housekeepers: 55 percent native-born
◦Taxi drivers and chauffeurs: 58 percent native-born
◦Butchers and meat processors: 63 percent native-born
◦Grounds maintenance workers: 65 percent native-born
◦Construction laborers: 65 percent native-born
◦Porters, bellhops, and concierges: 71 percent native-born
◦Janitors: 75 percent native-born
STOP BELIEVING THE HYPE.
the jobs that illegals are willing to take pay cash wages, under the table, with no deductions taken out for social security, medicare, or disability
the working conditions do not provide breaks, days off, or overtime pay
in other words, the jobs illegals are willing to take used to be done by slaves
The answer to that is simple..stop extending the term limit on the unemployed. If they know they have only 6 mnths to find a job with no extentions..they will find a job! Thats the problem. One of my friends has been on unemployment for 2 years and has no plans to seek employment. He works for cash on the side. This happens a lot too!
Why would an employer who hires illegals want to pay a US citizen $ 20 an hour, when he can pay an illegal $ 10 an hour? Prosecute those hiring illegals, and perhaps citizens could actually GET these jobs.
