I didn’t work in 2010 and only collected unemployment benefits how will that affect me in the future when I apply for additional grants and student loans?

For the 2011-2012 FAFSA, it means you will probably not be able to provide an Adjusted Gross Income How much you made in 2010, or your income tax (as you will probably not file taxes). What this means is that you will probably have a lower EFC which translates in to more forms of aid. In this instance, you *may* be eligible for a subsidized loan. http://studentaid.ed.gov/PORTALSWebApp/students/english/studentloans.jsp
explainse the difference between a subsidized loan and an unsubsidized loan.

    Most of the time, you have to file a tax return… because unemployment benefits are considered taxable income. These tax forms will need to be used to fill out your fafsa…. same as everyone else.
