Im running up on the end of my first unemployment period. Im wondering, what is the process of applying for an extension? Do i just do the same application i did the first time? or is there a particular way in which to file for an extension?

I used eApply4UI (on EDD’s website) to file for my first extension. It was pretty easy for me because I had used eApply4UI the first time and made a printout of my answers. So I just used the printout as a reference sheet and gave the exact same answers *except* for the question (I believe it’s #9) that asks whether or not you’ve filed a claim in the past two years. I answered “yes” and entered the month and year that I filed my initial claim. Incidentally, I did this on a Sunday – the day after my first unemployment period ended. Good luck.
