I just accepted a job offer on tuesday, now I need to tell my boss I will be leaving. I want to do it without writing a letter.

Be polite, be appreciative, don’t burn any bridges, if she/he asks why you left, be gentle on your answer.

Write a letter letting he/she know that you have accepted another job and your last day will be on whatever date..be nice, you wanna leave the door open because you never know when you will need them
just ask them if they have a minute and just explain that you really love your job here but you are going to have to give them your 2 weeks notice because you are going elsewhere. if they question you about it, just be honest.. whether it pays more, saves gas money, closer to home, better hours.. be polite and don’t burn any bridges especially if you enjoyed your job. good luck!
