To be blunt…go get a job and quit wasting time online. The first step to actually finding a job would be getting up and actually leaving the house.

  • Katy:

Go to any fast food restaraunt. they will hire anybody. Krogers and Captain D’s pay everyweek. At the most you would have to wait two weeks for a paycheck. It sucks, but everyone else has to do it too.

  • Deek:

there’s all sorts of ways to make money from home. buying and selling on ebay is one way, but you have to know what you’re doing. many companies also pay people to do telemarketing or handle complaints over the phone from their home. if you want to start a home business, like a courier business, maybe a kid-taxi service, or something like that, talk to a bank about getting a small business loan.

  • Jimbo49:

Stop your bloody whining and get a friggin’ job, you lazy lay about. I hate people like you who moan you never have any money…………….get a JOB and stop your bloody moaning. Do you think that money grows on trees? Do you think people will just give you money…..how the heck do others do??? We WORK for it, so you bloody well do the same. OH……………I hate you people!!!!!!!!!!!

If you are disabled and truly can’t work, go to your state disability office (usually in their Health and Human Services area) and apply for aid. You will be able to get free healthcare, food stamps and a small stipend. You can also get on a list for section 8 (reduced rent) housing. That should help in the short term. Apply for Social Security Disability benefits. It is a long, slow process, and you’ll probably get denied the first time — appeal it. Have plenty of documentation on your illness (from your doctor). If you’re capable of working, get a job. As mentioned by someone else, fast food places and grocery stores are always hiring. You’ll have insurance, and if you do a good job, will get promotions. If you have no marketable skills, you have to start at entry level and work your way up. If you have office skills, go to a temp agency. They usually pay weekly, and often the companies the agency sends you to will hire you permanently (not always, but they do).

Just because you don’t have a job doesn’t mean you cannot get one.

That is how most people get their source of income.

Of course in America, we have a wealth of social programs.

You want to make Money Online right? – I know a nice NEW page that launched last month, the Membership is $45 but they guarantee you will earn up to $20,000 (that’s what they say). My friend told me he got an account 4 free, I did not believe it until he proved it to me showing me the email. We did not receive money yet because they pay every month and we became members not too long ago, but it seems to be real.

Oh,about the free account to avoid the $45 fee. They have a message on their site that explains something about “If you don’t have nobody with a reference from us send us your account request”. They need people to work with them (You are not going to be their employee but you know what I mean). The page pays you money for UNLIMITED referrals during your 1 Month membership (yes, you can renew your account) Well, read more, and send them a message to see if they give you a Free account to make them grow!

Lots of inconsiderate people here. We all know there are tons of people out of work. I would hope most people would know they could work for McDonalds, but I argue, what does working for $8/hr do when it cost you $20/hr to live? I know what you are thinking, “how do I know what that person needs to live…” but my point, if you will allow me, is that while we still live in a capitalistic culture (or have you butt heads forgot) how about some ideas that will pay this person enough so they can spend money at your place of business…. i.e.
    Window Cleaning Business
    Sunscreen Repair and Replacement
    Pool Service
    House painter
    Dog Poop Scoup Service
dry clean pickup and delivery service
    taxi service
    Mobile Auto detailing

I’m sure the rest of you could add a few of your favorite low cost / cash businesses to this list. For those of you that were rude above and/ro feel the need to tell me how stupid this post is, I beg you to discover your capitalistic roots and stop reading Karl Marx!

    Legally there are many ways:
    *Apply for unemployment.
–Already have, and it runs out in 4 weeks
    *Freelance work
    –Such as??
    *Sell newspapers
–Partially disabled; can’t stand or walk for very long
*Sell your blood to a blood bank
–Can’t. They won’t take diabetic blood
    *Do product testing serveys
–The only surveys I ever see are the ones where you have to buy something.
    *Participate in medical surveys
    –They don’t take diabetics

Also, since I am a single 55 man without dependents, I don’t qualify for any benefits other than food stamps.

I only need to survive for another 7 years. Is that asking too much?

Over the last two years I have attended dozens of job fairs. They always sound good until you get there and find that half of the employers don’t show up or are not hiring. A perfect example was a job fair that I went to recently where the Border Patrol was there. The agent told me that they weren’t hiring just establishing a list in the event that down the road they decide to hire. Establishing a list does not put food on my table, feed my family or pay my rent. I spend no less than 6 hours a day putting in for jobs across the country. I will move anywhere even if I have to sleep in my car when I get there. The politicians keep telling us that things are getting better while all the while they outsource our jobs. They could care less. When they leave Congress they will have a ready made job with some big company that they pushed contracts through for. So please don’t tell me that I should have found a job before my benefits ran out. The amount that we are given barely pays the bills. God help you if your child gets sick or your car breaks down. I have been in the workforce for 40 plus years and never been out of work more than a few months and that was during the time that I was honorably discharged from the military and found a job. It is good to know that I, like millions of other Vets, defended this country only to have these fat cat politicians (the President included)put a cap on the number of weeks we should have found a job (when the unemploment numbers keep going up). I hope you all rot in hell!

I can’t believe how rude and inconsiderate some people are. What happened to actually helping people around you instead of blasting them? Im pretty sure the first thing that foes through all peoples minds that are asking how to make money is a job because believe me, I know a lot of people who do not wish to work and will not and are great at taking advantage of the public system. For the rest of us, that have actually tried to do things right and get a job, have a little harder time learning how to get help. Maybe if some of you actually took the time to think before you wrote you would know that. Im sorry I wish I could help with a good answer but Im in the same boat myself.

  • Danni:

The anger expressed here toward the unemployed is because everyone knows if you want a job, there’s plenty of them out there. The MONTHS & MONTHS of benefits that the taxpayers have funded have helped the unemployed adopt a victim mentality – not to mention an enormus sense of entitlement, that most everyone finds very offensive. I bet many of the whiners here have cable, buy alcohol and cigarettes, keep pets (they cost a bundle), regularily eat in restaurants … buy lottery tickets … you get the picture. I actually read a post where one guy was whining that he not only needed an extension, but a higher weekly benefit – without it, he and his wife would have to “reduce their leisure and entertainment expenditures.” Trust you see where we’re coming from. When the free ride finally stops, I’m sure you’ll be amazed at how fast that “perfect” job that’s eluded you for months suddenly appears!

  • AJ:

    In response to Danni:

Well, after 1+ years unemployed, I finally got a job on a production line. At minimum wage. I shouldn’t stand or walk for very long, but since I keep hearing I should get up and get a job, I suffer through the day, swallowing twice as many Advil as recommended, just to keep the pain of arthritis to a bearable level. When I get home, I am in such pain, I can hardly handle cooking. I end up eating a cheese sandwich. And I can’t sleep because of the throbbing in my knees. I don’t have health insurance, so I can’t afford prescription drugs. My blood pressure is sky high, by diabetes is out of control, but, by golly, Danni, I got a job. Does anyone care that I have no life due to physical pain? Probably not. My only hope is a massive stroke so I can die and be at peace, finally. How about those thoughts, Danni? And the rest of you telling the unemployed to get a job. I took the only job I could get at my age. Are you happy now??

  • Well, we don’t need to knock people down when they are already down far enough. Since the recession started back in 2004 (if you look at the facts) jobs have been going overseas and more and more people have been downsized and as of today, this is still going on. What is happening is that the United States is turning into a third world country. I feel for the people here and understand that their hopes and dreams have vanished. Some of us are baby boomers and lost everything we have due to the economy. We are willing to do any work, however, how do we pay rent on $8.00 or less an hour, when rents are extremely high. We should have rent control in America. Also, the majority of people jobless are willing to do anything to get work and have gone from 6 figure salaries down to minimum wage, such as the man that cleans bathrooms in the airport and watches those 6 figure men walking by, as he use to be one. I, myself, am looking to a minimum wage, but will not be able to pay rent, so will go homeless anyway. Please people look at both sides of this issue, regarding helping poverty and jobless in America.

  • Lori:

People please read all the entries and see how others are suffering you are not alone. I am also on unemployment since June 2009. I am trying to stay positive but unless you have Jesus you will not be able to make it through. There are many jobs out there but they just don’t give them to us. The state of Georgia has a good program for their unemployed that should be a model for the nation. They PLACE

  • AJ:

Here is a small list of work at home companies who I have been hired to work for. The wait can be a little long but when hired on you won’t have to work in pain. After hire you will need a computer, a designated phone line and highspeed internet. Borrow the money or have garage sales if you have to to get started. Ive recommended these to others who have been hired. They include, Convergys, Liveops, Alpine Access and West Corporation. There is also mystery shopping for apartment communities, business opportunities such as,Tutoring, Mary Kay, Primerica, Prepaid legal, Miche bags, Avon, Discovery Toys, House cleaning, babysitting, home health aids………endless possiblities. I’ve worked many of these and made money when my husband was out of work. You can too if you want to. I am a divorced mother of five, who will graduate in the fall with a masters degree. I will use it to adjunct teach until I find professional level work, I will also reactivate my realestate license and get an insurance license. Online insurance sales is a perfect work at home opportunity. There are options, if you look and are willing you will find them. If I can do all this being a middle aged, divorced, mother of five you can too. By the way up until my unemployment benefits ended, yes I was laid off last year I had not looked into social services but by Golly I most certainly will now if I have too until graduation. Good Luck

  • ALL the jobs you ignorant people recommend have been added to

“JOBS AMERICANS ARE NOT WILLING TO DO ” for those who don’t know what that is Illegal Imigrants have taken those jobs. In economic times like this there is no more safety net. Low skilled jobs to fall back on are a thing of the past. Most of the people making these comments I am guessing have Government Jobs. Government workers have just eaten up the entire stimulas package. Now the Government has to think of new ways to rape and rob the private sector. These lazy government workers get benifits second to none. I’m waiting for groundhog day to be added to their vacation day schedule

  • Pray 2 GOD&LORD JESUS for love, mercy and forgiveness every day and have Faith in them that they will provide all your needs.Amen

This is the back end of the mule… I collected unemployment for almost 2 years… enough I said. I can make something work… I did make it work for almost a year. Doing everything for anyone… regardless of how much I made. Not Now for the past month even the little jobs are gone… No one is buying anything. Everyone is selling.. On Cl there may be 3 postings in the wanted section in an hour but then there are 300 posting in each of the sales areas…. No one but spammers are answering the post…. I’m getting kinda hungry and pissed off. Texas just had a land sale posted in the classified..
A whole lot of people lost everything…. 1000 Auctions listed everyday… I saw a company get sold for a few pennies..3-4 thousand dollar machines .50 cents each… Must of been 2 people sometimes it would go to .55 cents..
    Welcome to the O’bama drought

  • Dee:

I have been out of work for nearly 2 years. Yes, there are jobs out there and I have sent hundreds of resumes/cover letters, registered with job agencies, am networking wherever I can, etc, etc. and yet I still have not found employment. I am not being too particular at this point either! I know how difficult times are. It is a very demoralizing, frustrating, mentally exhausting situation for those of us out of work for a lengthy time and have no unemployment benefits left to help make the car payment, insurance, mortgage, rent, etc. It also has a huge impact on our health and well-being. I know there are people who really don’t care to work and are using the system, but I am NOT ONE OF THEM! And I know a lot of you are not either. I wanted to pass along some information that might be helpful to some. If you use prescription medications (which I have long before I was unemployed thanks to a drunk driver hitting me head-on!) there is help available to receive free, or low-cost medications. A few good sites are Bridges To Access, Xubex Pharmaceutical, RxHelpforWA (Washington state). You will need to fill out forms and have your doctor fill out some areas of the forms as well. It is going to help me a great deal. I hope this helps someone.

For those of you who are working … just be thankful! Please don’t just assume those of us out of work are slackers and “user’s of the system”. I grew up on a ranch working hard since I was a kid. Strong work values and ethics were instilled in me at a very young age. I have been working professionally since I was 17 – I am now 47. I’ve never been in this situation EVER!

Do those of you who post nasty, rude and disrespectful messages remember that this “great country” is in the worse depression/recession since the 30′s? The stories my grandparents and parents tell are no different than what you read in these posts, see on the television, or read in your newspaper.

Have so many of you forgotten what plain, simple kindness is?

I wish ALL OF YOU (even the rude ones) all the very best.

    I care!

    From Washington state
