    Aah, sweet memories:
Bunking off school to watch video nasties at a mate’s house.
Only needing 10 pence for the bus fare home.
Going to the greasy Greek-owned cafe, to play Space Invaders or Popeye.

@AUTORECOVERYUK ohmygosh did you even read my comment?! you’re basically backing up my argument, saying that it’s the actions of every body and thing surrounding children that determines their character. you’re still wrong TWICE though – society is NOT ruined – every day countless books are published, knowledge and understanding progresses. you said you had only 2 black kids at your school – society is more diverse now = learning about other cultures and acceptance is increased. and MOST kids?!

  • nakita13williams:

@AUTORECOVERYUK trying to say im not normal?
because no one is normal and stop going on about kids because not all kids are the same

  • AUTORECOVERYUK:

@nakita13williams Funny how my blog is on the top of the page and has been for a long time. Perhaps normal people do want to know. Perhaps normal people care.

  • AUTORECOVERYUK:

@xstarxdisneyx What a load of rubbish your talking. Children have no respect for their elders whether it be at home or at school. The pop culture and terrible music of the day does not help children in any way shape or form. Letting children have free rule at home or school because they cant be punnished is one thing thats ruined society. Most kids know the law is on their side and take advantage of it.

  • nakita13williams:

@AUTORECOVERYUK not all kids are the same keep that inmind
and stop going on about your life no one wants to know lol

  • xstarxdisneyx:

@AUTORECOVERYUK also, which point are you trying to make? that it’s the kids’ fault that they ’cause trouble’ nowadays, or the social workers and pc lot? kids respond directly to their environment, for example that they look different – as a response to wider varieties of media and celebrity culture. it also applies to the restrictions, rules and morals they are brought up with. if you’re suggesting kids are ‘worse’ nowadays, you’re actually insulting the parental skills of your own generation.

  • xstarxdisneyx:

@AUTORECOVERYUK kids have exactly the same amount of respect for teachers, parents and the police as they did when you were brought up. in fact, judging by this episode, they have more respect for eachother nowadays than they ever did in 78. for example, the way the older girls pointed the younger one in the wrong direction, or the boy in assembly flicking rubber bands at the girl. kids nowadays know they must stick together, and boys would NEVER do that to a girl.

  • SuperDykesy:

Well I don’t know which school you went to but I was in secondary school in the 1970s and the kids were always in trouble with the police. The police had to come to the bus stop after school most days because the bus conductor was scared of us, and I went to a girls school. Kids today are no worse than when I was at school, there were gang fights and riots. Girls got pregnant while still at school and teachers had chairs thrown at them.

@SplitKing710 , it was partially cancelled due to editorial decisions made around CBBC – they wanted to drop the age range, so it wouldn’t be as gritty and relevat as it used to be. Phil Redmond said, quite rightly, “Stuff that”…

Most of the people who make compensation claims are making them because there were clear instances of racism, such as assults or constant bullying. Nobody should be made to feel isolated , and when somebody goes to work or school, they should not have to submit to antagonism. All I am saying though is that while you might reflect positivley on the past, you should remember that more racism, sexism and homophobia existed then than it did now, and that PC behaivior was a way of tackkling that.

  • AUTORECOVERYUK:

@thatcher88 Again racist homophobic and sexist was not such a big issues as it is now,. A lot of people use those three things as a way of getting money out the state or claiming compensation. When i was at school we only had 2 black kids there. Yes we took the micky out of them and they took the micky out of us. We were all friends and the racist angle was never brought up or used to gain compensation. There was more respect for everyone then compared to now.

  • thatcher88:

@AUTORECOVERYUK Yes, and people were more racist, homophobic and sexist to.

  • VengaboysRbackINtown:

@HollyApple777 Nah. People just seemed to age much quicker back then.
