But you would be making $ 11/hr collecting unemployment benefits. Would you take the job of just let the working people continue paying your way?

It actually hurts the jobless. Prospective employers see that you have a gap in employment for over 18 months and they say hello- this person did not even attempt to work. There are jobs out there that pay less, yet some money is better then no money. The employers are looking at your lack of intuitive, and eagerness to be productive even if you were delivering pizza’s and working at 7/11, you were fighting the fight. There are jobs out there if you have an ounce of dignity you would take one even it is less then what you were doing before.

$ 11 isnt enough to live off of and neither is $ 9. Its not a matter of someone not taking the work, its a matter of not being able to pay rent and feed your family if you take that job.

Many of us have taken those jobs, and ended up in worse of a situation.

We need to stop outsourcing, and push for better wages and economy stimulation in other avenues. Raising the minimum wage probably needs to happen too.

PS – It is far more expensive on the taxpayer to take care of a homeless family, welfare, or incarcerated inmates than the measly unemployment benefits.

It hurts. I know several on UE who stopped looking, enjoyed the time off & worked under the table.

Of course people would rather just do nothing for $ 11/hr. rather than o to a job that would pay $ 2.00 less.
    I would.
Trouble is, it makes people unambitious and subject to he Lord Obama.
That is why extending the unemployment benefits harms people. Just what Obama wants.
A country dependent upon big government.
    Plain and simple.
