Asian stocks fell, dragging the regional equity benchmark index from a two-year high, after U.S. initial jobless claims unexpectedly increased, sparking concern about the strength of the world’s biggest economy.

U.S. stock futures turn lower as jobless claims up
NEW YORK (MarketWatch) — U.S. stock futures reversed course lower on Thursday after weekly jobless claims rose more than expected. “This week’s jobless claims data is unquestionably a disappointment,” said Dan Greenhaus, chief economic strategist at Miller Tabak.
