I don’t know why we are worry about those unemployed people, they never wanted to work to begin with. I think unemployment benifits should be extended for 10 years so they can enjoy their vacation and everything.

If you`ve got a job, KEEP IT! I know so many unemployed ppl right now and for those who are older it`s really bad. No one wants to hire someone in their 50`s and up, and companies want to let them off so they aren`t stuck with retirement money and increased health care expenses. I don`t know what`s going to happen but ppl need to start coming together & looking out for each other b/c this gov. isn`t going to help anyone but the rich bankers & rich politicians.
I am just watching this now, I have been unemployed since march 29, 2009. I graduated from college this november 21, 2009 with an associates degree in Business admin. I am still unemployed right now, i had surgery in June of this year and now what am i going to do. sit an wait while some contacts me, the last job I had was taken away from me by an international. Since then I have looked for over 200 jobs..

people have to get more aggressive if they really want to work, dress to impress, attend job clubs, go in person and not just apply online for jobs. I was out of work a long time too, but I kept looking and found 2 jobs. and I live in an area where jobs are not easy to find. You have to show the employer you want to work and you have to make sacrafices and take less than that $13 and $14 an hour job that you may have once had. just to work period brings you hope.
for your first comment about quitting a bad job or sticking it out, well you know if you just up and quit a job you cannot get any unemployment benefits.
I’ve called no one a pessimist. Today Bernanke said the recession is over. My last intention was to come across as obnoxious. But you certainly can’t think Bernanke is completely off the mark- he’s the FED chairman- he certainly knows more than the top 5 doom and gloomers…webbot included. For what it’s worth USA is heading into massive expansion which will lead to inflation, overheating, and economic imbalance. Perhaps that could lead to a collapse one day- but an economic rebound is here.

The world needs to change, we cant keep living in this way, money, more money, more, more etc. I’ve been poor always and I’ve lived in tents with my babies so I know how to survive best I can. Its hard this shit as our kids grow up and try and live in the world or will it be just be survival? No its not worth working for min wage with no benefits its spirit destroying cos they keep taking more n more off people who have little anyway. This system will eat itself.
What’s worse is every child, rich and poor, is urged to apply for new bank credit to pay for their school so the system can keep expanding. I was one of the lucky ones in that my parents paid for my school, and even with that I’m not financially sound.
If going impossibly into debt for a house makes you a serf, going into debt for your education makes you a slave. Learn to serve your master on your own
For the price of education these days, you may as well skip it and use that loan for home
I am an architect that went belly up first. All of our work stemmed from government buildings. That all work stopped when Iraq was invaded. Went on unemp. back early 2007 and lasted only 26 weeks. I had to take an early retirement in order to survive. I have family to take care of like everyone else. I saw this coming years ago and planned for it. A little bit is better than nothing. Peace bro.
